War

War is less of a game and more of an exercise to teach the ranks of cards, as it is entirely luck and no skill.

Setup

Deal out the entire deck, giving each player a face-down pile, which they do not look at.

Play

Each player flips over the top card from their pile and lays it on the table simultaneously. The player with the highest-ranking card takes the trick and adds it to the bottom of their pile. If two or more players tie for the highest card, a war begins. The warring players then place the top three cards from their pile facedown on the table, then flip over the next card on their pile face up, to be judged against the opponent’s new face-up card. The winner of the war then takes all the face-up and face-down cards on the table and adds them to the bottom of their pile.
