Old Maid

• Equipment: Standard deck, jokers and three queens removed. The remaining queen is known as the "old maid."
• Players: 2+

Setup

Deal out all the cards to players’ hands. Players look at their cards and discard any pairs of the same rank that they have faceup onto the table.

Goal

The last player left in the game wins.

Gameplay

Players take turns offering their hand (facedown) to the player to their left, that player selects one card (which they cannot see the value of) and adds it to their hand. If it gives them a pair, they must discard the pair. Play then passes to the left.

Ending the Round

Eventually, all cards will have been laid on the table, and one player will be left with the old maid. That player loses the round and is out of the game. The remaining players then begin another round.
