Deal thirteen cards in a stack face down, flip the top card up. This is the "reserve." Next to the reserve, place four face up cards, in a row of separate depots. This is the tableau. Above one tableau card, place one card to start the first of four foundations. The others will be created above the other tableau cards.
The foundations are built up in rank, starting at the rank of whatever the first foundation card dealt is (if a six of hearts was dealt as a foundation, all foundations will start at six). Aces in foundations go on top of kings. Tableau piles are built down in rank, and must alternate color (red/black). Aces are played on kings in the tableau. The top card of the reserve can be played on the tableau whenever valid, including in empty columns. When that happens, flip over the next card of the reserve. When there are no valid moves left, flip over the top three cards from the stock into a discard pile. The top card of the discard pile may be played on the tableau or foundations when valid. When the stock is depleted, flip over the discard pile to form a new stock -no shuffling.
Win: All cards have been built onto the foundations
Loss: There are no remaining moves in the tableau, and the stock has been dealt through a whole time without any moves.
